At the heart of our work are children and youth

Education for Adolescent Girls and Young Woman

With Girl Up Initiative this project aims to enhance the well-being of adolescent girls and young women by ensuring their continuous access to quality formal and informal education. It focuses on keeping vulnerable girls in school through targeted support, such as scholarships, while also providing out-of-school opportunities in skills development and entrepreneurship.

Empower girls in Tanzania

With Strømmestiftelsen this project empowers girls in Tanzania to complete their education and overcome gender-based barriers through the Bonga life skills programme. By supporting in-school retention, re-enrollment, and vocational training for out-of-school youth, it promotes gender equality, challenges harmful norms, and offers second chances to girls left behind.

Building Stronger Youth

The Dale Oen Academy supports adolescents who struggle in traditional school settings by offering an alternative path focused on character-building, personal mastery, and self-discovery. Through science, adventure, and life skills training, the program helps youth find purpose, confidence, and a future beyond the margins.

Empowering people in action-driven climate projects

Climate Resilience

In 2024, we supported our first major climate adaption initiative. In Mosambique, with Save the Children, we will reach nearly one million people – many of them women farmers on the frontline of the climate crisis. By linking climate resilience with livelihood support and social safety nets, the initiative addresses both environmental vulnerability and economic inclusion.

Work with Worth

This project supports women in India's ship recycling industry by promoting safer working conditions, economic empowerment, and recognition of care work. Through SEWA’s advocacy and training, it strengthens the rights, safety, and visibility of informal women workers in a hazardous and often overlooked sector.

Bringing people together through shared experiences

Festallmenningen

During the Bergen Music Festival, Torgallmenningen is transformed into Festallmenningen – a vibrant public space filled with live music, performances, and colorful installations. This is the third year that Grieg Foundation and the Bergen Music Festival transforms the city center to the beating heart of the festival, bringing people together through shared musical experiences.

World Class Orchestra

This project focuses on creating major concerts and film productions with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. As one of the world’s oldest and best-known orchestras, the Bergen Philharmonic is celebrated for its high artistic quality and exciting programs with top soloists and conductors from around the world. The orchestra aims to present large and ambitious productions that help make Bergen a leading cultural city in Norway and beyond.

Inclusive Theatre

Fyllingsdalen Teater is committed to inclusion, guided by the principle “Everyone shall be included.” Their projects focus on making performing arts accessible to children and young people, especially those from low-income families or with disabilities. Each year, they provide at least 50 scholarships and 1,000 free tickets to reduce barriers to participation. Through theatre and circus, they offer safe, creative spaces that support learning, self-expression, and social development.

Improving women´s health and quality of life

Menopause and Working Life

KLAR is a research project aiming to improve health care and work participation for women with menopausal symptoms. By combining registry data and interviews, the project explores how menopause affects women's health, careers, and sickness absence. KLAR also tests new tools to empower women and inform workplaces, healthcare, and policymakers.
