Miniøya 2026
Who: Stiftelsen Miniøya
What: Miniøya 2026
Where: Oslo, Norway
Project period: 2026
About the project
Miniøya 2026 takes place June 6–7 in Tøyen Park in Oslo – and interest is greater than ever. The festival sold out in record time, with tickets gone already before Easter. This marks the second consecutive year that Miniøya has sold out, following a major turnaround that saved the festival from near bankruptcy in 2024.
Today, Miniøya stands strong as Norway’s leading cultural festival for children and young people. The festival offers a much-needed breathing space where children take center stage. Here, children and adults can share moments together—whether it’s a first-ever concert, becoming immersed in a great story, singing karaoke, or drawing a song.
Tøyen Park will be filled with music, dance, theatre, literature, workshops, activities, and surprises. This year’s program includes artists such as Hkeem, Agnete Saba, Trond-Viggo Torgersen, Death by Unga Bunga, Ævestaden, Sangfoni, Zimmermann, and Drakånis. There will be storytelling theatre, rave events, dance workshops, silent disco, circus performances, parade song, and dancers appearing when you least expect it. At Miniøya, there is no single correct path—only many paths to great memories.
Miniøya is run as a non-profit foundation, and our goal is simple: to give children access to powerful, inclusive, and high-quality cultural experiences. In collaboration with social and humanitarian organizations, we distribute free tickets to children and families facing challenging living conditions. For many of these children, Miniøya is the only major cultural experience of the year. This year, 12% of Miniøya’s tickets have been distributed through humanitarian organizations and local partnerships at Tøyen.
About the organization
Miniøya is Norway’s largest music and cultural festival for children and takes place in Tøyen Park every June. Miniøya is operated by the Miniøya Foundation, whose purpose is to create cultural experiences for children and young people. As a non-profit foundation, we are not commercially driven, and any surplus is reinvested directly into fulfilling the foundation’s mission.
The foundation’s administration is based at Factory Tøyen in Oslo and consists of three employees. In addition to the festival, we run the series Miniøya Presents and provide courses and advisory services within the cultural sector, always with children and young people as the target audience.
During the festival, the organization expands to include around 40 key personnel and several hundred volunteers.
Since its launch in 2010, Miniøya has recognized children as a full-fledged audience and has worked to provide them with cultural experiences equal in quality to those available to adults. Here, children are introduced to a diversity of cultural experiences within safe, inspiring, and inclusive surroundings.
