During the year, we completed an extensive review of our project portfolio from 2020 to 2024. The evaluation provided valuable insights into when and how our support creates the greatest impact. One finding stood out above all. Lasting change begins with people. Visionary leaders, trusted partnerships and strong local communities create the conditions for people to grow, contribute and thrive.

At the heart of our work are children and youth
Bergen Aquarium
Together with Grieg Foundation, the Bergen Aquarium is creating a new learning programme for children and young people who are not thriving in traditional school environments. Through animal care, hands-on learning and teamwork, the programme aims to strengthen motivation, foster inclusion and help young people discover new pathways for learning and personal growth.
CARF
In vulnerable communities in São Paulo, where many families face poverty, violence, and social exclusion, the VOA Project creates pathways to opportunity and inclusion. Supported by Grieg Foundation, the programme combines arts and culture, vocational training, and targeted support for girls and young women to help children, youth, and families build resilience and shape brighter futures.
JOY
As loneliness and social isolation affect both older and younger generations, Young and Old - TOGETHER brings teenagers and older people together through shared activities, conversation, and community. Supported by Grieg Foundation, the initiative helps young people gain valuable work experience and responsibility, while creating meaningful social connections that enhance quality of life for older people.
Bringing people together through shared experiences
Krohnengen Brass
Krohnengen Brass Band brings together young musicians in an ambitious and inclusive musical community built on a shared passion for brass music. Through the “Brass for Everyone” initiative, the band provides free opportunities for children and young people to develop their musical skills, find role models, and experience the joy of belonging through music.
Miniøya
Miniøya creates a space where children and young people can experience culture, creativity, and community. Through music, arts, and shared experiences, the festival works to ensure that all children feel included and have the opportunity to participate.
Empowering people in action-driven climate projects
SEWA
Together with Grieg Green, Grieg Foundation supports SEWA’s efforts to improve the safety, rights, and livelihoods of women working in the ship recycling industry in Bhavnagar, India. The project helps strengthen economic opportunities and raise awareness of the challenges faced by women in this often-overlooked sector.
Improving women´s health and quality of life
Center for research on cardiac disease in women
Women remain underrepresented in cardiovascular research, despite heart disease being a leading cause of death among women. Supported by Grieg Foundation, the Centre for Research on Cardiac Disease in Women works to improve knowledge, awareness, and treatment of women’s heart health.

Grieg Foundation’s impact portfolio reached NOK 98.6 million in total exposure and remained positive despite currency headwinds.
Investments through LeapFrog, Just Climate, Planet & People One and the Women’s Livelihood Bonds support solutions in climate, health, financial inclusion and sustainable livelihoods.
The portfolio continues to align financial returns with measurable progress toward the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Project Impact
We had three fantastic project visits during our travels to Tanzania, Uganda, and India. We visited Strømmestiftelsen in Tanzania, Girls Up in Uganda, and SEWA in India. It was a rich and inspiring journey, where we gained close insight into the projects—and, not least, the people behind them.

The Grieg Art Collection

The Grieg Art Collection continues to attract growing interest and demand. Throughout the year, the collection has reached an increasing number of visitors and been made available to new audiences through loans to exhibitions at national and international art galleries and museums. These loans allow our art to meet new audiences and become part of new curatorial contexts.
Through active dissemination, collaboration and accessibility, the Grieg Art Collection aims to create art experiences that inspire and engage.
Grieg Art Collection continues to develop the collection through carefully selected acquisitions. The focus remains on outstanding contemporary art, with a particular commitment to strengthening the representation of female artists.
Fifteen new works were acquired during the year, the majority by contemporary women artists. Each acquisition is chosen to deepen the collection, strengthen existing artist representations and ensure that significant artistic voices are preserved for future generations.
Together with an increasing demand for loans and a growing audience, these acquisitions reflect the Grieg Art Collection's ambition to be a dynamic collection that continues to evolve, inspire and remain accessible to the public.
